Mission & Vision
Why do we exist?
Englewood Assembly of God exists to minister the love and power of God to people in the Greater Englewood area regardless of age, race, ethnicity, or socio-economic background with the intent of seeing individuals and their families brought into relationship with God through Christ, their hearts and minds renewed, and their lives restored.
Mode of Operation
How do we operate?
We seek to fulfill our mission as we concentrate on the following four areas of ministry:
Ø Exuberant Worship: Our exuberance in our worship services and our dedication to prayer reflects our love for God and our desire for the Holy Spirit to visit us in power.
Ø Energizing Discipleship: Our discipleship programs help people of all ages develop their faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ. As this occurs, we grow in our appreciation of God’s love and power in our own lives and in our dedication to sharing God’s love and power with others.
Ø Exceptional Relationships: Our relationships are based on our love for God and one another. By providing frequent opportunities to develop meaningful relationships, we share God’s love and power more effectively with one another.
Ø Effective Evangelism: Our efforts to follow the biblical mandate to share the good news of the gospel, are the direct result of our own experience of Christ’s love and the Spirit’s power. We desire our evangelistic efforts to demonstrate authentic love and spiritual power.
What do we want to become?
Our vision is to be a growing and thriving congregation that reflects the heterogeneous nature of the Greater Englewood area as people from all walks of life continually come to know the love and power of God through the individual believers as well as the corporate ministries of the church.
We believe that this vision can be fulfilled as we strive towards our dreams within each of the following areas of church ministry:
Worship: Our dream is to be a church whose values and beliefs remain rooted in our Pentecostal heritage while at the same time making sure that our worship, prayer life, preaching, and teaching is always relevant to the culture in which we find ourselves.
Discipleship and Spiritual Formation: Our dream is to be a church in which every believer is discipled and trained in a purposeful manner and then released into ministry according to their spiritual gifts.
Body Life: Our dream is to be a church in which everyone who walks through our doors feels loved and accepted, is quickly assimilated into the church body, and in which every believer has opportunity to build strong Christian relationships.
Evangelism: Our dream is to be a church with a strong presence within the community and world as we endeavor to do our part to fulfill the Great Commission to bring the Gospel of Christ to all peoples, leading them into the
Community Involvement: Our dream is to be a church that is known for its acts of service, love, and compassion wherein people can find spiritual refuge and physical help in their time of need.
Leadership: Our dream is to be a church with a strong leadership base that is able to lead us in obedience to the will of God.
Facilities: Our dream is to construct a church building in which there is adequate space for worship, church fellowship events, the administrative work of the church, and for the continued growth of our ministry programs – especially to children and youth.
